Herbert - Aliens and parallel Worlds
Peace on Earth? They gave it a quick try—and it ended right away. In the second volume of the Herbert series, almost all weapons refuse to fire, while alien Gonim show up as quirky sports tourists.
But not everyone is in “cuddle mode.” Hardliners, ex-military personnel, washed-up agents, and highly organized crooks sense their chance: Peace? No thanks. They hunt down the Gonim, kidnap them, attack them—and if necessary, launch missiles. Their goal: to reclaim their lost power. Collateral damage? Who cares.
The Gonim themselves make a massive blunder when they send a dictator to their own “hell”—it’s just too bad that innocent people are stuck there too. Oops. So they have to backtrack, rescue, and make amends—if only it were that simple.
While they’re trying to correct their mistake, an attack rocks Argentina. At the same time, the Gonim head off to a suspiciously perfect alternate Earth called “Heaven.” Sounds idyllic. Herbert sets out to find a former secret agent and gets unexpected help from a safe full of money that falls out of a spaceship.
Weird, fast-paced, a little wicked, and definitely not predictable: *Herbert—Aliens and Parallel Worlds* is German science fiction—or funny sci-fi—for everyone who loves wild encounters with aliens.
